Kaspersky Anti-Malware for VMware Environments

Kaspersky Security for Virtualization is a virtual security software that integrates with VMware's vShield Endpoint. It also works with VMware View 4.5, vSphere 5.0, ESX/ESX 4.1 and 5.0, vCenter Server 5.0, vShield App 1.0, vShield Edge 1.0.

This new software shall extend malware protection from Physical to Virtual Windows Machines without management complexity using automated and agent less protection on the same central dashboard for both Virtual and Physical Environments considering maintaining virtual machine performance on highest possible levels.

"This is only the beginning of our partnership, as we plan to develop more functionality with the VMware API, along with the ability to isolate any infected virtual machines before malware can spread across the network," said the company's Chief Product Officer, Petr Merkulov.

The overhead of this new software is offloaded from virtual machines as it runs on its own virtual appliance for securing the end-points of other virtual machines.

Kaspersky Security for Virtualization will be publicly available on April 16, 2012.
